I am a professor in animal ecology at the Department of Biology, at Lund University in Sweden. My primary research program involves studies of animal migration. I study movement ecology and navigation, and in particular, how birds have adapted to time their movements and navigate during long-distance migration. I use a combination of behavioural experiments in the lab and tracking of movements in the wild to explore these topics. Recent work involve non-breeding movements of common swifts and magnetic effects on migration behaviour in songbirds.

Key-words: Movement ecology, animal migration, animal navigation, behavioural ecology, endogenous migration program, evolutionary ecology, spatial ecology.
