The ability to move across the landscape to track food resources is vital to brown bear (Ursus arctos) populations.  Earlier studies have documented brown bears tracking the spatio-temporal wave of salmon food resources across the landscape. Plant resources also play a critical role in bear nutrition.  Our study explored whether brown bears from seven populations spanning their North American range tracked plant green-up or the green wave across seasons.  Photo credit: William B.
